A lot of us have heard of the word hemp. However, not all of us actually know what hemp is and what it does. Which then makes people confused on whether hemp and marijuana are the same or not. Though hemp and marijuana are the same, there are some major factors and characteristics that distinguish hemp and marijuana all together.
For starters, a lot of people like to confuse themselves that hemp and marijuana are completely different substances. Though they are not completely wrong, they aren’t completely right either. For those who are wondering, hemp is cannabis that contains 0.3 percent or less THC. Therefore, it is unlikely for the user to get high on hemp. In that case, what is the main purpose of hemp if it doesn’t make an individual high? Though it doesn’t make an individual high, hemp can be used to make a variety of products such as clothes, cosmetics, rope, soaps, and many more. To add on, hemp contains certain properties that can assist with health care. For instance, proteins, fats, and other compounds that can be found in Hemp seeds can reduce inflammation. As a result, a lot of skin care products that are natural are starting to produce hemp infused skincare products. In fact, just like cannabis, hemp can be infused in foods because it can help treat conditions such as high cholesterol and constipation.
As stated above, hemp contains 0.3% or less THC, which means side effects of having hemp don’t include being high. In fact, it is also safe to ingest hemp products. On the other hand, cannabis infused products can still make an individual high depending on the amount of THC present in the product.
In short, hemp and cannabis are the same. The major difference, however, is that hemp contains less amounts of THC in comparison to Cannabis. This means that users of hemp will not get high. Hemp contains a lot of proteins and chemicals that can be used for medical treatment as well. Therefore, next time you stumble upon any products or meals that contain hemp in them, have no fear of getting high and enjoy the new experience.
