Ever wonder what happens when you grow your cannabis plants in a cold temperature, or how they react to certain environments? Well in this post you are about to find out. The following is going to be about how climates affect the growth of cannabis plants.
It is known to a lot of growers that climate and weather is an essential factor to be aware of when it comes to growing cannabis plants. Therefore, before one begins to start growing their plants, they should take climate situations into consideration. Furthermore, there are two main climate temperatures which include hot and cold temperatures. Firstly, when it comes to colder temperatures – under 15°C or 60°F- this tends to slow down the growth of your plants. The reason being is because it upsets plant growth because they are vulnerable to getting types of mold that affect the plant in a negative way. Additionally, cold temperatures also over purple the leaves and can reduce photosynthesis. As a result, though there are some plants that can be grown in cold temps, it still won’t be able to grow as fast and as well as a plant living in a good environment. The next temperature that will be discussed is the hot temperatures. As a lot of us know, cannabis plants tend to grow better in warmer climates. However, what will happen when it’s too hot? Even though cannabis plants thrive in the heat, too hot temperatures can also cause the plants to grow slower. Too high temperatures – above 26°C or 80°F- can slow down the plant’s growth during the flowering stage as well as causing the buds to become airy and loose. Other factors that affect the growth of cannabis plants in too hot temperatures include wilting due to the roots lacking oxygen and reduced smelliness of the buds.
With that being said, the temperature of the environment is crucial when it comes to growing cannabis plants. They will be affected negatively if they are grown in climates that are too hot or climates that are too cold. Therefore, the temperature that the plants should grow in should be around 20°C or 68°F. This is how and why climates affect the growth of cannabis plants.
